News March 31, 2008: The code for retrieving Pfam domains has been updated to work with changes in the Pfam database. This should provide the desired long-term fix for retrieving protein domains.

March 25, 2008: The retrieval of Pfam domains is working again, at least temporarily. A longer term fix will be needed by April 1st, if possible.

March 20, 2008: The Scansite server had a hardware failure and had to be replaced, resulting in about two weeks of downtime. The programs have been re-installed and are working again, except for these features: the evolutionary conservation option, and information retrieval from the external sites Pfam and PhosphoSite.

NOTE: During heavy usage times, protein domains from Pfam may not be displayed in the Motif Scan graphics, because Pfam allows only one simultaneous request from the same IP address. If this happens, you can retrieve the domains directly from Pfam after finding the motifs in Scansite.
